Canon Zoemini Launch

Photo Fun with the Canon Zoemini Cameras

Some time back my bestie cousin and I were invited by Canon to spend a day at the Maslow in Sandton for the launch of the release of two instant camera printers, the Canon Zoemini S and Canon Zoemini C.

I learned that I love taking pictures but that I need to work on my scrapbooking skills. A few ladies and their besties were invited for the day and then they made it into a competition. Let's just say that on the day everyone was a winner, but the Canon Zoemini was the REAL WINNER.

marvel universe live in south africa

Marvel Universe Live is in South Africa, and it's simply Marvellous!

This past Friday my family and I were gifted tickets to Marvel Universe Live. Marvel and Disney feature strongly in our house and so the girls really were beyond excited for the show.

The show started at 8 pm and both my girls had been threatened with “no show” the whole week if they didn’t behave. With that said, they really didn’t know what to expect.

Since we went to the show, I have chatted to a few people this past weekend who were all interested to find out my honest review. I thought I would share it on here. That way I can give you all a heads up without giving away any spoilers, so you know what to expect.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Jr by The People’s Theatre

[GIFTED] You may or may not be aware that I love going to the theatre, and my girls are following suit. This has been helped along nicely by the fact that we get to go to shows that are done impeccably well. Recently our family had the pleasure of being hosted at the opening of the new musical show “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Jr" by The People's Theatre. It was brilliant!

*WIN* Frozen 2 Is Here! Let the madness begin!

It's been five years since we first let it go, but did we really? My 8 year old experienced the Frozen craze enough to remember it. And yes, we too had the Frozen themed party. I'm ecstatic that now my 5-year-old can jump on the bandwagon, or should it be the sleigh, because Frozen 2 is here, almost, so let the madness begin!

Whether you love it or hate it, the Frozen phenomena is here to stay with the release of Frozen 2, complete with a brand new catchy soundtrack!
Yes, my family and I all have our favourites … we ourselves like to finish each other’s sandwiches too. Tell me, do you say Anna or Arna?

Are We Ageist, Or Is Age Just A Number?

Are We Ageist, Or Is Age Just A Number?

Are we defined by our age, or do we define other people by theirs? Yes, we are ageist! There has been so much mention of genders, Xenophia and, and, and here in South Africa recently. Am I just adding another negative argument to the mix? Hopefully not.

In South Africa, the harsh reality of immigration grows daily. It is no longer just a friend of a friend of a distant relative who is leaving, but a few layers have been taken away and with that comes the inevitable brain drain.

exploring education - international baccalaureate

Explore Education | International Baccalaureate Education System

As part of my Explore Education series, where I ask parents about the different types of education paths they have chosen for their children. I investigate the what, why, how and question them about their honest opinions about the system of education their children are currently experiencing. This week I am talking to Reinet whose children are in the International Baccalaureate education system, or IB for short.

Reinet has actually been one of my blogging cheerleaders always sharing and supporting me. Since her and her family have moved I have loved hearing about their adventures and how different life is overseas than here in South Africa.

Views of an Educator and Private School Parent

Explore Education | Views of an Educator and Private School Parent

When I started on "my educational journey" - I say mine as my girls will have their time and place to tell you their story. For now this is from my perspective. It was during this time that Michelle and I discussed education in various forms and directions. I began to question things like, what value did I feel I was getting from the current institute, and also questioning what was good for my girls? Times are tough and when a massive chunk of your money is going to educating your kids, you do start questioning your decisions and making some tough choices. Michelle is both an educator and a private school parent.
